Volunteer Portal

The Volunteer Portal consists of tools, files and other resources for volunteers to read and use while they volunteer for NHEG.

Volunteers can earn many rewards from NHEG! Many people volunteer for many reasons. Some are in high school or college and want credit from their school. Some want to volunteer to better their personal lives and to gain work experience. There are many things for which you can use your volunteer hours. For example:

• On occasion, NHEG is offered free hotel stays to give to volunteers.
• Disneyland/Disney World Tickets have been given to our volunteers in the past.
• Our volunteers can use their hours to gain recognition from the U.S. President by participating in the Presidential Volunteer Service Program.  The Presidential Volunteer Service Award is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging United States citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States through presidential recognition to live a life of service.
• NHEG recognizes all volunteers during an annual Recognition Day. Virtual or non-local volunteers will receive certificates by mail or e-mail.
• After leaving NHEG, letters of reference will be provided on request for any volunteer who performed well. Letters of reference are also available upon request to volunteers who are currently with NHEG.
• Daily Point of Light Award – created by the administration of President George H. W. Bush, the Daily Point of Light Award honors individuals and groups creating meaningful change in communities across America. Each weekday, one volunteer or volunteer effort is recognized with the Daily Point of Light Award.

Welcome and thank you for becoming a volunteer at New Heights Educational Group.  Before you begin volunteering for our organization there are some documents that will need to review in order to understand who are and our expectations for our NHEG volunteers.  We also, have documents for specific positions in our organization and so if you fall into that group, such as a NHEG Radio Host, make sure to read those as well.
